Still, I can't not fantasize about how I would design fabrics of my own. Whatever I feel like designing. Big designers do that. There is Amy Butler, for example (who there's big chance you know and heard of, she's very renowned), who designs not only textile products, but also fabrics. And sometimes I think to myself how great it would be. Designing my own fabrics for my own bag designs. This way it would be completely MY bag design, a 100 percents!
Those sites actually make you the fabrics. You design something, send it to them with payment, and they print it and ship it to you ready for use. You can choose whether you wish to share your fabric design with others or not. If you want others to use it, or make it exclusive – which can be even cooler, because no one would have it except you, so it's totally exclusive to your bags (or other products). Sometimes you can also choose the kind of material, and how many yards you wish to create. It is pretty amazing; it opens new worlds of having your own fabrics. Even if it's a one time thing. And that's what I wanna do sometime. Even one fabric design, make a one timer payment, since I don't have enough money to pay for that kind of stuff, but still would like to try it.
If you happen to visit fabric stores and can’t find the fabric you've imagined in your head, I think this would be a wonderful solution for you!
Here are a few sites that bring you that service:
